Travel Requirements

Need a Passport?

Passport processing times range from 12-16 weeks—make sure to factor this into your planning.

Already have a passport?

Double-check that your passport won’t expire within 6 months of travel and avoid any surprises at the ticket counter.

NOTE: Colombia does not require a tourist visa for U.S citizens. Please check your country’s specific requirements.

For your convenience, we have blocked off a set of rooms at a special rate for our party. The booking link will be available January 1, 2025 for reservations.

Getting Around the Old City

We’ve arranged special transportation to get our guests to and from the airport. However, if you’d prefer to book your own transportation, we recommend using either the local yellow taxis or, for added comfort, the private white SUVs, which can be arranged through our hotel.

Please note that Cartagena is a tourist-friendly city, and taxis are abundant and generally safe. However, it’s common for drivers to quote higher prices to tourists. To avoid overpaying, we suggest negotiating the fare before getting into the vehicle. Typical rides within the city start at COL$7,000 (around $2), but additional fees can vary based on the driver’s discretion, as taxis do not have meters. Tipping around 10% or rounding up to the next thousand pesos is a kind gesture, especially for helpful and honest drivers.

Note: While Uber is available in Cartagena, its legal status is uncertain, and local taxi services are often more reliable and easier to find.
